Renee Robertson
Renee Robertson is an Educational Therapist and neurodiversity‑affirming educator with a Master of Arts in Child Study and Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She brings over four years of full‑time classroom experience supporting diverse learners across grades, settings, and learning profiles.
Renee has worked extensively with neurodivergent students, including serving at Oregon’s only middle school designed exclusively for neurodiverse learners. She loved the work and continues to integrate those practices into her educational therapy approach—centering predictability, emotional safety, and individualized scaffolding.
She holds teaching certifications in British Columbia, Ontario, Oregon, and Washington State, with qualifications in General Special Education and English Language Learner instruction.
As an Educational Therapist, Renee blends academic intervention with executive functioning coaching. Her work focuses on helping learners understand their brains, build sustainable systems, and develop confidence in their abilities. Intervention goals include:
Improving time management, task initiation, and sustained attention
Strengthening planning, organization, and goal‑directed persistence
Enhancing cognitive flexibility, including shifting between tasks or ideas
Building metacognitive awareness and self‑regulation strategies
Applying compensatory tools and environmental supports such as visual schedules, graphic organizers, and structured routines
Renee also works extensively with neurodiverse adults, offering online‑only educational therapy and executive functioning coaching. She finds deep joy in supporting autistic and ADHD adults as they build systems that honor their brains, strengthen self‑trust, and create sustainable routines for work, health, and daily life. Her virtual practice allows her to support learners across regions while based in Canada, where she lives with her black lab–pit mix, Star.
In addition to her educational therapy work, Renee is a certified yoga instructor in Hatha, Restorative, and Vinyasa styles. Her practice emphasizes accessibility, nervous‑system regulation, and empowerment through embodied learning.
Renee’s approach is holistic, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that every learner—child, teen, or adult—deserves tools that honor their strengths, support their challenges, and open pathways toward independence and self‑trust.
What Families Are Saying
We cannot recommend Renee highly enough. Over the past year, she worked with our 12-year-old daughter in weekly sessions focused on executive functioning, visual-motor integration, and overall academic support. The growth we've seen in such a relatively short period (1 year) has been remarkable.
From the very beginning, Renee took the time to truly understand our daughter's strengths, challenges, and learning style. Her sessions were engaging, individualized, and practical, helping our daughter build skills that carried over into everyday schoolwork and life. As parents, we noticed improvements not only in organization, planning, and confidence, but also in our daughter's willingness to tackle challenges independently.
Perhaps the greatest testament to Renee's impact is how our daughter felt about her. She described Renee as "a personalized teacher, tutor, and confidant all in one." She looked forward to every session and developed a genuine bond with Renee, trusting that she was someone who truly cared about her success. That kind of relationship is invaluable and made all the difference in her willingness to learn and grow.
Renee also consistently provided incredibly detailed session summaries and thoughtful plans after each visit. These recaps kept us informed, reinforced what was being worked on, and gave us practical ways to support our daughter between sessions. Her communication, professionalism, and dedication were exceptional.
Looking back over the past year, the progress our daughter made exceeded our expectations. Renee didn't just teach strategies—she built confidence, fostered independence, and gave our daughter tools she will continue to use for years to come. We are deeply grateful for everything Renee has done and wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for an education therapist who combines expertise with genuine compassion and an extraordinary ability to connect with children.
